Elsies Jade 3P
Byland Gold Dust x* Sire: Byland Gold Spear x Byland Augusta 1D40 x Dam: New Beginnings Elsie’s Jade Elsie’s Jade 3P resulted from the implantation of a very low quality unfreezable embryo, and we are certainly glad we did not discard it. The day she was born, we knew that we had a very special female. She continued to get better and went on to become the 2004 Canadian Reserve National Champion female as a heifer calf. She sold for $8000 in the Canadian National Sale at Agribition to Fantasy Lane Farms. Early in 2008, with Rick Salzsauler to go into a joint ET venture with 3P and her maternal sister 20P, and both females flushed very well. 3P is now bred back to calve early in 2010, to Saskvalley Pioneer 126Px. 3P has already proven herself as a producing female. Her first calf by CF Varsity X x* topped the 2006 Royal Winter Fair sale at $5000. She also has an excellent Waukaru Prime Minister ET x* daughter at Fantasy Lane.

Her dam Roan Sue is considered to be one of the model females in the breed. We were looking for a female that would work well with some of our Western Canadian bloodlines, and we knew we had found her when we saw Red Sue. She was chosen to be the donor that would be flushed with the very last semen available from Pheasant Creek Leader 4th x, who was the 1970 Grand Champion at the Regina Bull Sale, and sold for $7300 to Remitall Cattle Company, Olds, AB. He was a homozygous polled sire who was tremendously thick and sound . We have several pregnancies from Leader 4th and Pioneer from Red Sue due in 2010. She will be flushed to more sires in the future.
